ON + OFF: Day 3 // LOE x Strong Hold ‘Know Peace’ Release @ Strong Hold Shop 7/10/15

“When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.”

-Jimi Hendrix

Last weekend, the good folks at Strong Hold Shop, a boutique of eclectic styles in street wear, hosted MoRuf’s third show off the #BeWaterTour with a special release. I had the opportunity to interview the masterminds behind the collaboration and learn more about the ‘Know Peace’ cap and their experience of producing a product together that holds such deep symbolism. Idris, brand manager, Dupie Fresh, owner of the store, and MoRuf spoke candidly about the organic process of the collaboration and their intentions of producing the product. Evernote_Camera_Roll_20150710_095212_largeTheir interaction on camera demonstrated the cool nature of the project and how each of their individual styles created such a dope cap. The point, Dupie stated, was for them to create a product that could combine the elements of peace, love and strength into one clean fit. MoRuf took me step by step of what each symbol meant – the RGB flag signifies unity; LOE symbol stands for love; and 2Strong’s symbol for strength – and the peace sign, a universal symbol of these combined meanings, provided the right amount of balance between them all. Strong Hold says that “the collaboration between Love.Over.Everything & 2StrongShop [was meant to] bring two different elements of hip hop together to promote solidarity for Love & Peace.”

Moreover, the evening continued on with good energy, vibes, and a mixture of sounds from Iman Omari prior to MoRuf’s and Ike’s performances. If you missed out on the event, check out my visual recap above as well as Strong Hold’s reel from the evening below.

The “Know Peace” cap is available for purchase online and in-store. If you are in the area, go check out Strong Hold and pick one up before they run out!

Stay tuned for the next episode of ON + OFF for #BeWaterTour’s fourth show in Washington, D.C. on July 25th!
