For 5 weeks, Documentary Photographer and Visual Artist Nancy Musinguzi (@afrikansniper) hosted & led a visual storytelling workshop with SPNN’s Youth Action Committee (YAC) (@spnnyouth) where students combined conceptual imagery and poster making to tackle a social issue they were most passionate about. In partnership with Proof Public (proofpublic), YAC members independently designed and screenprinted unique hashtags to spark new dialogue around their chosen issue as well as amplify the messages behind their imagery. MEGA excited from how this collaboration came together! We started our new photo residency with Roosevelt High School in South Mpls this morning and these kids are beyond adorable ✨ For the next 2 months, we will be teaching a series of visual storytelling workshops that provide youth the tools and resources to share stories about their community and what they would like to change or improve by documenting their everyday experiences living in Minnesota.
